Hi Slowhands,

Your last Post reflects my family and is not connected with original request.

My William 1862 - 1904 is buried in St John's, Cinderford. He was a London City Missionary in London and latterly in Iver, Bucks. One of his daughters only died in the 1990's. She is buried at Lydney. His wife was Hannah Richings from Soudley.

My GGrandfather James 1831 - 1901 was born at Clearwell, not Pillowell. That fact caused me no end of delay in finding his birth.

Jane - Have you had any success in tracing past William Griffiths born 1861? I am interested in an Edward Griffiths who married Sarah Edwards at Newland in 1811. Only two known children were Thomas (bn 1812 Staunton) and John (bn 1814 English Bicknor).

Looking for information on my ancestors from Ruardean and East Dean, William GRIFFITHS b. 1861 East Dean married Emma BRAIN b. 1863 St. George. Their Children were James Albert (my Grandfather), William, Simeon, Joseph, John Albert, John Brian, Frank and May (twins). Williams' father was James and his mother Sarah. Emmas parents were Samuel BRAIN and Esther.

Joseph emigrated to Australia. Frank emigrated to Tasmania.

James Albert and John Brian moved to Yorkshire to the coalfields and settled in Royston, Barnsley.
