The two fatalities, Sydney and Charles Nicholls were both my Grandfarther's Albert Sydney John Nicholls born 03/09/1927 relatives, Sydney was his farther and Charles was my grandfarthers brother. I have also came across some other names i remember being spoke about and looking forward to finding out more information on the Nicholls family

You are absolutely right, I have missed a generation. The father of William (b. 1853 d.1928) was John NICHOLLS (b. 1816 d.1857) HIS father was Philip (1774 - 1823). John NICHOLLS (b. 1816) married Eliza STEPHENS (b. 1817 d. 1895) at Hope Mansell Church on June 6 1840 (1840 Q2 Ross vol.26 page 352). The witnesses were William and Rebecca STEPHENS. Birth certificates for their children give the mother's maiden surname as STEVENS.
The children of John and Eliza NICHOLLS were Philip (b. and d. 1841), Mary b. 1842, Eliza b. 1844, Philip b. 1848 (my great grandfather), John b. 1851, and William b. 1853.

John NICHOLLS, brother of William born 1853, was my great great grandfather. Their father was Philip (b. 1774/5 d. 1823) who married Hannah PROSSER 1801. His father was also Philip (b. 1735 d. 1797) who married Elizabeth ROBERTS? 1765. And his father was Richard (b.? d.?) who married Elizabeth HATTON from Ruardean 1723 at Walford. Richard's residence was given as St. Weonards, Herefordshire. There are two possibilities for Elizabeth HATTON (b. 1705 d.1761)
William (b. 1853 d.1928) married Ellen MORGAN? 1881. Believe the reg. details are 1881 Q1 Westbury on Severn District vol.6A page 332. I do not have the certificate. William's funeral was at Holy Trinity Church Drybrook on Oct. 6 1928. His residence was given as 2 Upper Bilson Road, Cinderford.
Alice in the household of Eliza NICHOLLS as granddaughter in the 1871 census was Patience (known as Alice) the illegitimate daughter of Eliza (b. 1844), William's sister.

im trying to research the nicholls family that lived on bilson green sidney was my great grandad born about 1882 as on 1901 census he was 19 he was listed as a clerk but can find no record of his birth or marriage to my great grandmother clara meek born 1885 of little dean is this unusual as is blocking me finding out more about his parents i know he died about 1925 aged 43 - any help would be much appreciated or contact from any of the meek side - sally
