In 1881 Ellen Johns is a 15 year boarder living with Samuel & Drusilla Burgam the Head of the household is Samuel Burgam`s father Joseph.

I have also found the death of Mary Ann and Ellen`s father William Johns who is buried at the Forest Church, Drybrook on 6 March 1874 age 43. His death certificate would give the name of the informant which could be helpful.

I have just been looking at the witnesses at the wedding of Mary Ann Jones to William Durham, one being Ellen Hyde.

This is the result.

James Hyde married Ellen Johns (father William Johns) residence Steam Mills at Drybrook 31 May 1887.

So…. Ellen Johns appears to be Sister of Mary Anne.

Ellen is aged 23 c1864 and her father is deceased.

Although the childrens’ births, all appear to be registered, none of their baptisms seem to appear on the FOD records.

Thomas Durham aged 15 on the 1901 census, could be the one registered before the 1887 marriage.

Thomas Durham, mother’s maiden name Johns, March Qtr 1866, Westbury on Severn.

The only John born c 1890 is

John William Durham, in this case, the mother’s maiden name is Jones

In both the Gloucestershire BMDs and FreeBDM there is a MARY ANN JOHN born Q1 1868 Monmouth 11a 28. This is possibly your Marianne, but you would need to buy a birth certificate to find the parents names to make any further progress. The Gloucester BMDs suggest her mother wasn`t married.

Marianne Johns born about 1866

I'm looking for any information on Marianne Johns she married William Thomas Durham on 12/8/1887 at flaxley as found on this site. Her residence is down as holy trinity, and father William Johns being listed as deceased on marriage. I have found her on 1891, 1901 and 1911 census under name of Mary An Durham once married.
I can't find any birth record for her or census before 1891. Or any information on her parents, siblings ect.
Any information gratefully received as I seem to have hit a brick wall.
