we look for the marriage which we find in the Parish Records on this site. It took place at Drybrook Parish Church on 21 April 1970 and was between Joseph COLES and Harriett WILLIAMS, a widow and daughter of Thomas Jarrett. The daughter Ezabela (Isabella) is born at Whitchurch and we find a Baptism on 12 July 1863 of Isabella WILLIAMS daughter of William and Harriet WILLIAMS at Whitchurch.
Harriett is said to be a widow when she married Joseph COLES and we find a burial in the Parish Records of William WILLIAMS aged 29 at Whitchurch on 8 July 1866. Our next step is to find a marriage between William WILLIAMS and Harriett and in the Parish Records is a marriage at Whitchurch on 1 September 1861 between William WILLIAMS and Harriet EVANS daughter of Thomas JARRETT, fisherman. We then look for a baptism of Harriett EVANS and again in the Parish Records on this site is this record:

There's an Elizabeth Jarrett birth record for 1839 registered in Monmouth - which is correct as English Bicknor came under Monmouth in 1839.

I wonder if anyone can help with my brick wall? My 2 x great grandmother was born I believe in English Bicknor around 1840 according to the 1861 and 1871 censuses. In 1861 she is listed as Harriet Jarrett, servant and living in Lydbrook. in 1871 she has married my 2x great grandfather Joseph Cole and living still in Lydbrook. I believe her father was Thomas Jarrett however I am unable to locate a birth or christening record for her. I also think she may also have the name Eliza or Elizabeth. Can anyone help in my search for her birth?
