Bennett/Dyer family Blakeney (reply)

There are a number of mentions of Dolly (Dorothy) DYER in Blakeney area in the BNA from about 1913 to 1935. These make it clear she was a well-known organist in the area and was obviously in demand. There is also mention of a Kate DYER as an accompanist as well.

I wonder if she was part of this family. Arthur Edwin DYER was organist at Cheltenham College for many years and was followed in the same post by his son, Francis. The family seemed to be closely associated with music and teaching. If she had survived she would have been very old in the 1970s but I don't know the context of your query.

Bennett/Dyer family Blakeney

Hello!
My family lived in Blakeney/Awre between around 1860 to about 1990.
I was wondering if anybody was taught by Marjory Bennett at Blakeney Primary School. She lived at 2 Brook Villas, Blakeney.
My great aunt Enid Bennett played the organ in one of the churches in Blakeney too.
Some of my ancestors are interred in the grounds of a house that used to be a church. Hugh Seex Bennett for example.
When I was young, in the 1970s, I used to hear the name Dolly Dyer but I can find no mention of her in the records.
I would be very grateful to hear from anybody.
Best wishes
James
