Thank you for that information, to be honest it is the conclusion that I drew initially
however if I have the right one George Townsend is discharged from the Army as a sergeant 27th December 1818, he appears to have joined up 9 / 01/ 1806. Still a mystery why George Little is given as Father.

January 26 2011 Slowhands posted a reply to me showing George and Maria Townsend with their son Milson this was from the 1851 census, place of Birth for George is given as Bicknor , West Dean, Wife Maria also born in West Dean. In the month of February they Baptise their Daughter Mahala (Reg Ref PFC82 IN 1/3 pge 33) in Parish - Chapel: Christchurch. From the information already kindly supplied we have managed to piece together a lot of the family history and we Thank you very much for this help. Can we find any help to get us back past our road block with (George) LITTLE being given as George Townsend's father

Sorry I missed off the census details, I have two census detail which I believe is the correct family one is 1891 RG 12 piece 4340 folio 25 page 18 Reg District monmouth, Parish West Dean place of birth is given as West Dean and the 1841 Census HO107 Piece 364 Folio 28 Page 2 Reg Dist. Monmouth Parish Dean Forest gives place of birth as Gloucestershire.

George TOWNSEND b.abt. 1815 marries Maria SMITH March 1840, his father is given as (George) LITTLE, G. TOWNSEND D.O.B. from census. Who were his parents, can anybody help please. Also does anybody know anything about (George) LITTLE?
