Thanks for that I had just found it myself, honest! (only after reading slowhands message though)
A good chance for me to thank you for all you obvious hard work re this site. For a newcomer to this and to computing in general it is a wonderful site and I never fail to be amazed how much effort other users are prepared to put in to help out. Thanks to this site I now have an enormous previously unknown family and a wonderful new hobby.

Bingo!! I have tried Priest,Preest, Prest, Prust and Prees which are the ones I have come across but not Preece and certainly not Prace!! It is amazing just how their surnames change although I expect a lot must be down to whoever is completing the census. It certainly makes for interesting research!! I do always use the soundex box but obviously I need to expand the search even further particularly for these earlier dates.
Have now found their marriage in 1824 so many thanks again I knew I could rely on you! Now tracked her right upto her death in 1874, her last record under Prece!

Marriage of Phebe Preest bap 2.3.1806 Bream

I am trying to find the marriage of Phebe/Pheeby Preest/Priest baptised in Bream 2.3.1806. Parents Samuel Preest and Ann Beach.
The only thing I can find is in the 1861 census Phebe is shown as head and a widow with her two sons John Priest born abt 1842 and Thomas Priest born abt 1845 both born in West Dean. I cannot find any of them in any earlier census.
As her sons seem to always use the surname Priest I wonder if Phebe married another Priest just to complicate matters but I can find nothing at all in all the searches I have tried.
Any help would be appreciated.
