I have in my tree Thomas Stevens [written as Stephens] base born christened at Flaxley on 17 Jun 1810. Mother Jemima , whose own baptism is recorded as Littledean 24 May 1789. I am wondering if Thomas was born in a workhouse somewhere nearby but don't know how to go about searching records, or even if this is possible. I would be most grateful for any help.
