Esther Davis death 1850 - Forest of Dean FHT Forum

I am trying to find the GRO record for Esther Davis - burial 17 Jul 1850 according to the FoD parish records. Would the GRO certificate give me any other information? Would appreciate it if a kind sould could point me in the right direction re GRO certificate. I have already purchased one and it is incorrect.

If the Esther DAVIS Death in Apr/Jun Q 1850 NEWENT is not yours, then there is a chance that its not in the BMD - if my grey cells can be trusted I think that it was not mandatory to register events until much later in the 1870's (1874) or so

I am pretty sure that Esther Davis is mine but I can't find a GRO record for it, so could it be that there is a local burial records but no formal death registration?
