Much as today there was a Maintenance Orders (Facilities for Enforcement) Act 1920 -so if a legal Order was proven you might be able to trace the father.

The Parish Poor law was I think in place until the mid /late 1920's so there may be an entry in the Parish / Union records.

It is difficult to answer the " Who is the Daddy?" without an admission or a declaration by the mother. Sorry.
