John Burleigh (bapt Newent 28 July 1776) may be George's father. John's siblings were bapt as Burlow, Barlow and Burloe. This John, believed to be a carpenter, is thought to be the son of John snr who died in Newent workhouse (bur 20 Dec 1835 Newent). He married Mary Sandford, a widow. John snr's parents may be James Burley/Burlow and Mary Barnes.
