Sterrys have abounded for many centuries not far from Mitcheldean, so conceivably (no pun intended) Laura Moore/More fell prey to one and took the rap whilst Beatrice took the surname. But it would still be unusual for the register to take that form, and there of course I'm assuming the transcriber got it dead right.
