Dowle Family and boat called Black Dwarf - Forest of Dean FHT Forum

I am directly related to the Dowles of Aylburton. My aunt who is now 85 assures me that her great grandfather Charles owned a boat called the black Dwarf but I suspect that this has been elaborated in the telling and that he perhaps just worked on it! In Aylburton churchyard there is a gravestone for Charles and also for James Dowle who is said to be the captain of the Black Dwarfe. Any information on the Dowles would be appreciate.d
