Hi Annj,
I'm no expert at all but I presume (someone here will correct me) that the Gloucestershire Records Office may know, have you tried them ?. I couldnt find Alfred's details on their website records, presumably as its relatively recent.

Do you have any clues at all as to where he's buried, such as that of other family members perhaps ?. Was he a churchgoer ?.
