Hello,
Joseph Firkins who lived in the Cinders Turnpike was my wife's great great great grandfather. I think I've located the turnpike cottage on the A417 west of Ledbury.
Here's is a picture courtesy of Google Earth! I'm fairly certain this is it as it is called "Pike Cottage" good clue!
