I'll look into your suggestions. I know my grandfather David took his immediate family to Treherbert Wales they worked in the coal mines there. They later emigrated to the U.S.
I am David's granddaughter. He was born 1859 in East Dean? My great grandfather, David was born 1824 Little Dean.He was a butcher. His wife Fanny Ruck in Lea Hamlet.
All of the rest of the Grindles were from Forest of Dean area.
