I'm not a subscriber so cannot obtain further details, but GenesReunited suggests Amos was in trouble with the school authorities again in 1909.

Alice Carpenter, of Abbenhall, the mother of three illegitimate children, was ordered to send two of them to the Board School at the Plump. The circumstances of this case were stated to be somewhat distressing

BNA Gloucester Citizen - Thursday 12 February 1903

NEWNHAM COUNTY COURT. Wednesday.—Before his Honour Judge Ellicott. Amos Goulding, farm labourer, of Black Pool Cottage, Mitcheldean, applied for an administration order. Applicant owed £24, and offered to pay 10s in the pound by monthly instalments of 5s. Mr. Whatley appeared on behalf of a creditor. The application was granted.
