Terry Glyn James (reply)

Kia ora Rita

Sorry to hear of your loss.

When we lived in Woodend, North Canterbury a few years ago, we lived in a subdivision established by a James family. One of the lanes was named Lydney Lane, so I assume they named it that for a reason!

I wonder if they are a part of the Forest of Dean mob that has migrated in dribs and drabs to North Canterbury like my FoD ancestors? Do you know of this branch of the James family?

I only met one of them - the widow of one of the James brothers, called Pauline James. We lived not far from her and equidistant on the other side of us in the subdivision was her brother in law (brother of her late husband), but we never met him.

I could contact Pauline for you if you are curious. It is only the James/Lydney Lane coincidence that suggests a connection.

Best wishes, John

Terry Glyn James

Hello from New Zealand
I wanted to acknowledge the passing of a wonderful cousin, who passed last week in Lydney.
Some who do not get Facebook may not know that he has passed. His funeral is at The Forest of Dean Crematorium 4:30pm on Thursday 12th February.

I wanted to acknowledge him as a friend and a wonderful cousin who helped me with our family tree. Plus he took me around the Forest of Dean when I visited from New Zealand.

He will be missed very much by myself and I gather a heck of a lot of people including his family of course.

R.I.P. Terry and yes I am still carrying the torch to find our lost relatives. And with the help of Graham (who is the only one left to help me). DNA being tested so hopefully that will help in all directions. Go with much love and sadness cuz (you were the first one to call me that and it meant so much). Rita James xxx
