There is one entry for Isabella LEWIS in the GRO Index for 1852 in Monmouth district.The mother's maiden name is given as PREECE. There is another Isabella LEWIS registered in 1850, also with the mother's maiden name as PREECE.

There is only one Emily LEWIS in the GRO Index who was registered in Monmouth District in S Quarter 1849. The mother’s maiden name is given as JONES.

There is only one George LEWIS in the GRO Index who was registered in Monmouth District in D Quarter 1840. The mother’s maiden name is given as PRUCE.

Would emily Lewis's mothers name be the same ( she was baptized 1849 whitchurch herefordshire ) ???

This may be James and Elizabeth in 1851,

Ancestry 1851 Census, Whitchurch, Doward

James LEWIS, Head, Mar, 48, Ag. Lab. Born Herefordshire, Whitchurch
Elizabeth, Wife, Mar,46, Born Herefordshire, Whitchurch

Of course, this is some years before they actually married but it wouldn’t be the first time couples were economical with the truth.

According to the Forest of Dean records - there is a baptism at Whitchurch, on the 11 January 1831 - parents, Thomas (occupation, labourer) and Maria, residence: New Weir.

Hi I don't know if anyone can help, I am researching the Lewis family history from Whitchurch herefordshire,

The census records say some of them were born in whitchurch but some I can't find them in Fod website could the census be wrong or is there more records that haven't been entered on this site ??

A Thomas Lewis b abt 1797 ( in whitchurch herefordshire) is a prime example, he is shown as married to a maria ????, they had about 10 children

But I can't find them in the 1841 census yet their first 2 children John was b abt 1836, and Mary ann was b abt 1838, according to the 1851 census in whitchurch herefordshire,

In whitchurch herefordshire he married in 1858 whitchurch herefordshire to a Elizabeth jarratt, Elizabeth had 2 or 3 children before she married 1858 to James Lewis, but can't find James or Elizabeth in 1841/ or 1851 censuses, trying to find their parents also

The 3 children she had were Thomas, James, and emily
