Early Days of Jim Hale - Hale and Co

This is a great story that Sam Hale has kindly made available to us. It was
dictated in 1992 by his grandfather Jim Hale and is now available on the
website for all to read and download as a pdf file.

Jim's story begins in the 1920s when his grandfather was the village
blacksmith and his father had a sawmill and builder's merchants business. It
is amazing to think that the business which developed on the site in Drybrook
is still going today and still in the family. In 2007 it will be 80 years
since the name Hale and Co was registered.
