Had heard you were good slowhands! I do know about those earlier Limbricks but Thomas Limbrick born about 1700 is one of my problems. It is thought he was the brother of John Limbricke born 1692 but I cannot confirm this and would very much like to do so. If not, it looks as if the Limbricks you mentioned, will not be any relation to me unless I can find the link with Thomas.

John Limbrick who fathered the four children with Mary, is another enigma, I can find no parents for him either. I think one of his children, (yet another Thomas), later moved to Maisemore and settled there.

My own branch moved from Westbury to Hartpury, where I found my great grandfather in the workhouse, aged just 10 years old. From there they settled in Gloucester to live.

I will have another look at the earlier Limbricks again for the connection with Thomas.

The good news is that a Limbrick family seems to be in the area in the 1650's, no clear connection, but yours may relate to these :-)

Thanks for the reply Sylvia.
I've researched the Limbricks from around that area and also Charfield only to discover I wasn't related to them. My family are definitely Westbury on Severn, although interestingly enough, I am also trying to trace the parents of Thomas Limbrick born about 1700. He along with John Limbrick are my two stumbling blocks. I suppose there is a chance that neither of them were born in Westbury which is really what I need to discover.

This isn`t an answer to your query I`m afraid but I thought you may be interested to know that my 2xgrt.grandmother Margaret JONES(nee WILLIAMS) married a Thomas LIMBRICK(born 1816 Thornbury) . It was her second marriage and they are together on the 1871 census and on the 1881 one. I could send you details of these if you are interested

I have been researching the Limbrick family from Westbury on Severn and have come across a couple of problems I cannot resolve.

John Limbrick fathered 4 children with an unknown Mary. I can find no marriage for them. Also there was a son William born to a Mary Limbrick in 1781 and I am wondering if John was the father of William. Does anyone know who the parents of John Limbrick are? I can find no link to my tree as yet but feel sure he does belong to my branch.
Any help at all, would be much appreciated.
