The mother is Charlotte Cooke (formerly Hughes). Although I suspect his father James remarried at some point to Mary Ann Merry. Thanks for your continued help.

The father is as mentioned on the Marriage certificate for Richard, but I'm not convinced this is correct. Mainly due to the surname difference. Cook versus Cooke. Something just doesn't feel right and I'm looking for more substantial evidence.

Can anyone provide information on my second great grandfather Richard Cooke. His marriage to Elizabeth Ann Matthews took place on the 17th August 1889 at Pontypool, Monmouthshire. Census information for Richard gives place of birth as Littledean Hill, Littledean, Forest of Dean circa 1868. I am unable to find any cival birth registration or parish records for Richard. Any information would be greatly appreciated as my own research has reached a dead end.
