Postcard of Newland Church

While browsing on the internet recently, I came across a black and white postcard photo of Newland Church in the Francis Frith Collection. It showed Headstones in the churchyard standing upright around the ancient preaching cross.

All of these Headstones are now laid flat - does anyone know when this was done? I suspect it was done to make it easier to mow the grass and perhaps some of the older ones were becoming dangerous and likely to topple over.
