GOTHARD Evacuation to the FOD area (reply)

Yes, that's the two children. Born in London.

We know the boy was evacuated by the time of the Sept 1939 census and the father George must have enlisted around the same time.

Thanks!

Michael & Anne GOTHARD Evacuation to the FOD area ? (reply)

Hi

Trying to get a picture of events during the Second World War.

it's a long shot again, but does anyone remember the Gothard children who were evacuated to the FOD area during WW2? Evacuated in 1939 and 1940 when they were babies. They lived with their grandparents, William and Edith Dale in West Dean. Their father George was from London but joined the Gloucestershire regiment in late 1939. His wife was Irene Dale from Bream. The children may have started school in the Bream area.

I should add that this enquiry is only concerned with people who are now deceased, including the evacuees.

Thanks to everyone again who has given me so much valuable info about the Glosters.

Cheers downunder.
