Apologies for delay in replying but been out of the country for some weeks.

Many thanks for the baptism records. I seem to have found a couple of more ancestors I knew nothing about. Some of the baptism dates are before the recorded year of birth but I guess the census records can be a bit vague.

I don't suppose there is a baptism record for a Rhoda (?) Thomas in/around 1863?

The 1871 entry is although I suspect the Rahda should be transcribed as Rhoda and Mary was born in 1851.

Pity about the 1861 entry. Might have to investigate this further.

The 1851 Wales entry is not the right family as my family (William, Eliza and Mary) appear to be living in Birmingham at this time according to the 1851 England Census.

The 1841 Wales entry is not for the right family and as yet I have been unable to find an relevant entry.

Oh well, keep on delving.

It's a bit like needle in a haystack as the name seemed to be very popular at the time.

Unfortunately I have no other information at the moment apart from the Wales Census of 1871 that has him living in Chapel Hill at the age of 80. Place of birth was Lydney (incorrectly transcribed as Sydney, Glos). Unless of course there is a place called Sydney in Gloucestershire?

On the IGI there is a William Thomas c. 30 May 1790 Lydney to Thomas and Ann.

What other info do you have on William? For example his wife's name or census info?

I am researching my paternal lineage and having established three generations born in Chapel Hill/Tintern I have now reached my Great Great Great Grandfather who was apparently born in Lydney in 1791. There my research has stopped for the time being.

As most of my family have been Chapel I suspect he would have been Non-Conformist.

Any help with this would be appreciated.
