There are about 70 records for LEGG(e) in Lydney/Alvington on the Parish Records section of this site, however Uley is in Voreign land ( across the Severn !)

Thanks slowhand.
I have the census info and found dates in Lydney Parish magazines but can't seem to find anything about John,
James had 2 other brothers George and John.4 sisters that I know of,Jane,Mary,Caroline and Elizabeth.
My direct line is through James.

I am researching the Legg(e) Family and have drawn a blank before 1831.

James Legge b 1831 in Alvington m Emma Oatridge 1857.
His father was John Legg b c 1794 in Uley but have been unable to clarify any more than this. He married a Hester,I am presuming Tilley as James middle name.

There was a Hester Tilley but can only find a marriage to a Smith Watson.

Any help would be apprecitated
