<title>Latin; use in documents and records pre 1733 (reply)</title>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I guess this echoes the trend from the use of Latin to English, esp in the Clergy / and wills  upto the mid 1700's</p>
<p>The period between 1086 and 1733, when Latin was the official language of documents written in England. <br />
After 1733, official documents were written in English, although one or two Clergy continued post 1733 !</p>
