I have found a John Jones who was born in about 1869 who is a probable/possible for my extended family tree by virtue of the fact his mother was Sarah Ann Morgan. Sarah Ann Morgan was baptised in 1841 in Parkend and married John Jones senior. The latter was born in about 1841 in West Dean. I have that this couple had, as well as John (Junior): Milson [Henry] Jones (born 1865) and Thomas Jones (born 1867). I know that sorting out the Jones' is a difficult task with there being so many but these are worth checking as a possible connection. I have found that Milson had a son called Alfred Milson Jones. But I haven't found any lines descending from the other two brothers as yet. This Alfred's mother could have been Allathea Charlotte (nee Preece), possibly born in Ross-on-Wye in the early 1860s and who married Milson Henry Jones in 1885.

Pure speculation based on the assumption that Teignmouth / Newton Abbott was the likely marriage area.

I certainly do not want to crashing into possible "skeletons" so perhaps its best to leave this line for the time being.

thank-you so much for all your information. most of your records about my nan and grandad-thomas william jones and florence pearce since 1895 tally with what i knew,including baptisms of my dads siblings and of him.dad was alfred and as you know died in 2002.

my great grandfather-Thomas william jones-i believe was born in coleford in about 1895.He soon after moved to Teignmouth south devon where he met florence louie pearce and married .He had 5 children.The eldest was my father Alfred Jones.Although the family continued to live in Teignmouth Thomas and Florence travelled back to mile end coleford so that my father could be born in the Forest of Dean,where i have found his baptism record.The only other fact i know about Thomas was he had a brother called Jim/james.There is a family tradition that Thomas`s family were possibly travellers connected to the coal industry in the Forest of Dean.After my grandfathers death in 1950 my grandmother did move back to wales for a while with her daughter Patricia possibly to the same area.possibly patricia's married name was Hale.Has anyone any information to help me trace Thomas william jones'ancestry.Thank you.
