Drybrook - Parkend walk (Solved) (reply)

Thanks for that - problem solved :-)

Thomas Taylor was baptised in Newent so I was concentrating on Drybrook.

Father-in-law Arthur Taylor (gt gt Grandson of Thomas) lives in Parkend so he is now off doing some field reseach !!

A beer on the slate for you at the Rising Sun, Bream.

Cheers
Bernie

Drybrook - Parkend walk (reply)

A little strange that this is so unrecognisable to others, esp as its only 3 or 4 miles from the Heritage Centre.

This Drybrook is the "Little Drybrook" near Ellwood Lodge; just north west of Bream, towards Marsh Lane and Clements End. Take the road from Bream Tump out towards Sling, around the Mill Hill bends, half way to Sling - then head north into the Forest and you'll find the small settlement..

OS map ref SO 595,072

< use Google Maps, and place name Little Drybrook, for road map and satellite image >

The Walks and Inclosures were divisions of the Forest.

Drybrook - Park end walk

This "address" shows on the 1841 census for Thomas Taylor and family.
(HO 107 /364/12)

Local and Glous council as well as the Heritage Center have no idea where this is/was.

Any of you Gurus got any ideas?

TIA
Bernie
