A parish workhouse was erected on a site at the north of Westbury 1789-90.

After 1834
Westbury-on-Severn Poor Law Union was formed on 28th September 1835.

Her father William murdered her mother Sarah (see James) in May 1829 when Ann was about three. Also, was there a workhouse in the Ruspidge/Cinderford area that she may have entered at the age of three.
