Thank you, yes had picked up John Charles Rudge baptised 10.05.1857.

Would you have any idea how I can find out more about the family of George and Elizabeth? I was sort of hoping(!) I could have picked up a Thomas brother of Charles but think I may have to carry on with Charles and Mary Baldwin.

Regards

ELIZABETH MEEK 1830 , Ruardean Hill Drybrook (reply)

Thank you again. That was the conclusion I had come to, but have not a clue where he went or whom the mother was! (good guess he could not have done it on his own!!) I know it was common with the Meeks to have another family member bring up usually the eldest (this happened to my mother).

Do you (in your wisdom) know whom the father of George was?

You have no idea how grateful I am for your input. Best wishes

ELIZABETH WARD MEEK 1830 , Morse, Drybrook

I am really hoping someone can help me as I am now totally at a loss with this one!

My 2x g.grandmother was Elizabeth Ward Meek. In her marriage certificate to Thomas Rudge on 19.08.1856 it states the witnesses were Charles and Eliza Maria Meek. Her father is given as Thomas Meek a bailiff.

I cannot find Elizabeth Ward Meek anywhere whatsoever! Please can someone help.

She apparently gave birth to my g.grandmother Martha (Alice) Meek in December quarter 1856.

Thank you and a very happy Christmas to everyone.
