Marriage of George MORSE / Ann CLARK ?t (reply)

That makes perfect sense within the time frame. Even the witnesses make sense. Wonder why they married in Bristol? My Somerset gg grandparents also married in Bristol, throwing me off by not marrying in their home parish of Batcombe.

I don't have my notes with me at the moment but I'm going to try to graph this out again later.

Marriage of George MORSE / Ann CLARK ? (reply)

"Do you have the marriage info for George & Ann? I don't think I have it".

This is the only likely marriage to come to light so far!

George MORSE married Ann CLARK by Banns at St James, Bristol on 27th January 1807.

Witnesses were Thomas CLARK & Elizabeth CLARK.

I have a copy of the register entry.

Children of George MORSE / Ann MORRIS ? (reply)

So, we have two George/Ann Morse combinations in Blakeney at the same time? Clarke and Morris? Chris W has done more research onto this line than I have -- it's her direct line . . . Some of the records state Ann Clarke specifically as the mother, rather than Ann Morris, and Harriett's will, and George Morse's will also outline the Clarke/Morse children, it's just a matter of untangling the two . . .

Are the two George Morse's related -- cousins perhaps? I wish the Rev. Morse had recorded more info into the registers.

Where is Thomas MORSE, 1808 ? (reply)

No I still haven't found out what happened to Thomas!

George Morse & Ann Clarke appear to have had the following children:

Thomas born on 17th June 1808
Eliza born on 17 January 1810
Charles born on the 2nd August 1812

(The above all give Ann Clark as mother on Baptism Records. Baptisms for other children only state George & Ann).

Mary born 1815 but only survived three days
William born 1816 (No Baptism found for William)
Ann born in 1817
George junior arrived in 1822
Another Thomas appears in 1825 but only survived one month
Richard born in 1829 only survived for six weeks

In George Morse's Will the only children he leaves bequests to are Eliza, Charles, William & Ann.

Where is Thomas MORSE, 1808 ? (reply)

Did we ever discover what happened to Thomas MORSE, c. 1808? Another family link to the Cadogan's . . .

Was reviewing Harriett CLARKE's will today, and it would appear that George MORSE and Ann(e)nee CLARKE had more children that aren't mentioned in Harriett's will. She also doesn't mention some of brother William (CLARKE)'s children, and doesn't mention any of brother Thomas' children by name (but includes the three youngest sons . . .)

Died, emigrated, established on their own or just not viewed favourably?
