Hi Dorothy - Mary Ann Stery is my Gt Gt Gt grandmother - she married Edward Turley. She had many children including my ancestor John who's son Samuel was my mum's grandfather. I do have some information if you'd like to contact me directly.

When I found Mary Ann Sterry's birth it did say that William was her Father and Ann her mother, she was born in 1822 in Nibley. Thank you very much, at least now I know that I am on the right lines.

Hi Dorothy:

I only know of one Mary Ann as a daughter of William Sterry, and she's the same one as the previous post refers to. She was the first child of William (born about 1794) and Ann nee Shaw (born 14/11/1793).

I can only go back one further generation of Sterry in this line, in that William was the first child of Richard Sterry (born Awre about 1763) and Ann Toomey.

However, I have seen a tree going four generations up from Ann Shaw, to Edward Hawkins and his wife Ann Bedoes who were married on 12 May 1701 and were both from Blakeney.

Another child of William and Ann Sterry was Richard Sterry (1823-1894) whose third wife was Elza nee Jay. She was my great-great-grandmother (my father's mother's father's mother.)

Are you by any chance looking for a Mary Ann Sterry, baptised 8 Sept 1822 in Nibley - she married EDWARD TURLEY in 1844. The last son FRANK, married my Great Grandma's daughter in 1892. Could this be your STERRY?
