So he waited 3 or so years before re-marrying. Cheers for the surname of Emily. She had alot of kids to keep under control so would have a list ready of who had been naughty for John Gilbert Pearce when he got home from work. He would then go to the bed of whoever was on the list and give them a huge beating.

We believe the family are originally from Gloucestershire. We think a relative ran a pub there (The Crown Inn near Cinderford), before moving to Wales. Tom later went back to run the pub until it shut in the early 1920's (???).
In the 1911 Census, they have three boarders where they live in Pontypridd. Mary is 28 and Tom is 36.
Mary Morgan's parents may have owned a farm in Gloucestershire (Monmouthshire).

Death:
Bronchial pneumonia (after 1 week). 1st of September 1946. County Mental Hospital Roundway. Getting some more information from the hospital. They did say that on the records she was only in the Mental Hospital for 2 days and she died (was transferred from Salisbury clinic). She was very weak and thin but refused to eat any food. Sounds to us like she may have had depression and wanted to die??
Buried at St John's Church, Church Hill, Shaftesbury.

After Damaris' death, John married Emily Elizabeth (don't know maiden name), and had:
