Electoral Registers - Newland/St Briavels - 1930s-1950s (reply)

Can anyone advise me where I might be able to find copies of the electoral registers for the Newland/St Briavels area for the period 1930-1960?

Are any copies held locally or is my best bet the British Library?

If I have to go to BL to see them, can anyone tell me what the parliamentary constituency was called at the time? Was it Forest of Dean or West Gloucestershire etc.?

Thanks

Pete

Some of these registers have been transcribed, and are off line for privacy reasons, so Glos Archives is where they are probably held.

Electoral Registers - Newland/St Briavels - 1930s-1950s (reply)

The following is taken from an original posting by 'admin' on 6 September 2005:

Is my email address safe from spammers?

In order to protect you from spammers and email harvesters your email address
is not shown. If there has been an email address entered by a poster you can
contact this person direct via a contact form which is displayed by an icon at
the side of each message.

It is recommended that if you are replying to a message that you post your
reply on the Message Board unless it is of a personal nature. Many people other
than the original poster could well find the information in your reply very
useful.

Although there is current legislation in the UK to protect people who inadvertently disclose personal information, perhaps we can all be mindful of the possible distress caused in doing so.

Also:

Think twice before including your e-mail address in a post (Announce)

If you have included your e-mail address in any of your posts, I strongly
recommend that you remove it by editing your message.

Spammers use web robot software called "mailbots" or "webbots" to collect e-mail
addresses from web pages. So you might want to think twice before posting your
e-mail address in public places.

Instead of leaving your e-mail address on a posting on the Message Board for
someone to contact you direct, all you have to do is to have your E-mail address
contactable in your Profile area and advise in your message to click on your
e-mail link which is an envelope icon at the top of your message.

This link will take them to a contact form where they can send a message direct
to you. The software that runs this forum will then send the e-mail direct to
you without your e-mail address ever being revealed at any time.

In order to change your options, you first of all must be logged in, then you
will notice your user name appears near the top of the page, this is a link to
your Profile area where you can change your options.

By default when a new member registers the setting is "E-mail address
contactable".

If you wish to receive an e-mail direct make sure a tick is in the box next to
the "E-mail address contactable".
