Although William Edward CLARK died in 1902 Administration was not granted until 1921 in which year the entry appears in the National Probate Calendar. There must be some kind of story behind that.

So, if I'm reading your query correctly this time John, this info came from Ancestry's Probate database, they may have more info regarding your researches. Do you have access to that site, I'm afraid I don't at the moment except via the local library, not sure whether the Library version includes Probate records access ?

Alternatively, have you tried the National Archives records (which I think will include anything held at Gloster Archives) ?.

Thank you,also to pClark. Sorry I didn't make myself clear. I have the previous messages from the forum but can't find the official admin./probate entriy. Would there be any local records of the names of property owners? My specific interests are the Tan House and Brookend. Regards John Clark

Hi John,
an alternative approach is to click onto your username as it's displayed at the top of this or any other thread or post. Whenever a username is displayed in BLUE it means that user is still active on the forum, if it's a very old thread some users who are no longer using the site will be displayed in black. As with other BLUE headings etc on this site, a username displayed in BLUE shows it's a hyperlink, so can be used to access further information. Clicking the hyperlink will open a box containing a summary of the user's history on the website, including a list of their recent posts. So in this case clicking your own name will display the old post your looking for. Again, if you then click a BLUE post title in that summary list, then it, and the relevant thread, will be displayed.

Alternatively, if you click on the "Users" heading on the menu across the top of the screen, you can browse or search for any user, in this case "MPG" or similar, and hopefully you'll find her there. As before, all the usernames are displayed in BLUE, so that person's site history and posts can be accessed as above.

If you type in Wheelwrights in Woolaston it should bring up your original post

In December 2014 M.P. Griffiths, amongst others, kindly replied to my query about "Wheelwrights in Woolaston". He quoted information about the death of a William Edward Clark, coachbuilder, on 24 June 1902 who was clearly the 'Wheelwright' in question. I am keen to find out who inherited the business, especially by the 1930s. I have been unable even to find MPG's reference and I wonder where to look. John Clark
