Alfred Simmonds Ruarden Hill Cricket Club

Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help, a friend is researching Ruardean Hill Cricket club and is trying to find out what happened to one of the players after 1926. His name was Alfred Simmonds born around 1899, he was one of the clubs main players up until Sept 1926, but when the season started again in April 1927 there is no trace of him, Did he move away maybe?? / emigrate. Was he possibly hurt in the pits? if anyone can throw any light on what happened to him we would be most grateful.

Alan
