Since I first posted this query I have made use of the excellent Parish Records transcriptions on this site (How complete are they ?)and have extracted a lot of useful information which gives me more confidence in his parentage.

However I am still hopeful that there might be someone using this site who either has specific family knowledge or has done more research on this family that I have time to do at the moment.

Yes I have him living with his parents John and Hannah in 1841.

John Jones is listed as Woodman and in later censuses seems also to go on to become a Crown Woodman at Biblins Lodge.

Hovever these are common names in the area and I can't be sure I am looking at the right people.

I was hoping that someone on the forum might have prior knowledge or research on this Henry Jones in particular.

Henry Jones, above, is my wife's Great Great Grandfather. He shows up in 1841 - 1901 censuses as first a woodman and later as Crown Woodman living at Marion's lodge from 1881 - 1901. He was the enumerator for 81,91,01 censuses Newland district 2 / 3.

If he was born C 1840 and you have him in the 1841 census who is he living with in 1841/51- his parents or someone else ?????

Henry Jones, above, is my wife's Great Great Grandfather. He shows up in 1841 - 1901 censuses as first a woodman and later as Crown Woodman living at Marion's lodge from 1881 - 1901. He was the enumerator for 81,91,01 censuses Newland district 2 / 3.

According to his marriage certificate (1860 to Ruth Davies) his father was John Jones and his wife's father was John Davies (Witnesses Dinah and Benjamin Jones).
