Thank you for all the info, some I had on the Nicholls but not all and had read and printed past listings.

Also the info on Baynam. I have to find the definate answer as my research could be up the spout with listing the wrong grandparents on the tree.

The 1911 info VERY helpfull.

Sydney info also, there was a lady called Salley researching him back in 2009 I noticed don't suppose she's still around? Sydney was her great grandfather if I remember right.

The problem with this info is that I have William John marrying Ellen Morgan in 1881 and 'slowhands' confirmed this a while ago. Do I have it all wrong? I have found no info on this sight or in the forum, I need to get it right and its giving me a pain in the head.

Can anyone help on this. It was from a letter I found in some papers, plus a family tree sent to me from family in Cinderford some years ago.

William Johns son also called William John b.1886-1943 married Mary Jane Meredith b.1887-1978 marriage 1908. I know this to be true as they are my husbands grandparents.

William John 1854 and Ellen Morgan b.1862 all the childrens names seem to fit and their baptism info gives me Ellen as mothers name?
