Hello slowhands, I cannot thank you enough, I couldn't believe the help I received from my post. I have looked for years (off and on) for Mary and so much came thro'. I went to the area some years ago, took some 'photos' of several Mountjoy graves and to the GRO, but didn't have much info to go on, did get a copy of The Miners' Agent but didn't know how the info contained in it, fitted in. Coincidences do occur, thro' my mother, we also have the Pyrke family, so it would appear we a foot in each camp! Thank you once again.

but include a daughter Charlotte born 1801, Great Whitcombe, Glos, who married a John WAIT - 2 February 1824, Cheltenham St Mary

Congratulations on your great site, although it has taken 4 nights to get thro' the Forum. I am looking for ancestors of Mary Mountjoy who is my GG grandmother, I have details of her later life but nothing before her marriage which took place (in Lydney)on the 26th January 1829, the groom was Thomas Peppiatt who was an exciseman & a widower, the witnesses were William Mountjoy and Hester Hill. They were married by H. C. H. Hawkins, curate. On the census she has stated that she was born in Little Dean Glos. She was born about 1806 and died 2nd December 1876 in Port Vale Hertford, Hertfordshire, where all her children were born. Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated.
