Dont know if you answered your own question on Richard Evans' parents but I believe it was Richard Evans(1759) and Mary Bird(1754) Married 2 May 1778 at Tidenham.

Charles davis (1794) is my 3rd great grand uncle.
I think the lady from OZ was in correspondence with me about it through Genes Reunited some while back.

Thanks for that Slowhands (and your email) I am slowly working my way through all the Evans, Elsmore and Davis landslide of information that I found in this forum yesterday!
My Davis (Hartpury)connection I have been researching for 20 years and I have only just found out that Hartpury is on the FOD site!
I had not considered that it might be FOD.

Bream is/was a chapelry in the parish of Newland; so my understanding is the Baptism was recorded in Bream and then maybe some one has updated the records in Newland :-)

I have been researching this particular family and have discovered that most of their children appear in the Parish Register for Baptism in Bream AND Newland.
Does anyone know why this might be??
