Sylia - sorry to have been so long in replying.

From the data given, I don't think my William Powell and yours are identical, though they may have been related. As near as I can ascertain, my William was born in 1829 in Mitcheldean, and moved on from there to Stoke-on-Trent, where he worked as a potter. At present, I'm not sure about his parentage.
