I can't recall it going east towards Speech house, but it would seem probable given the quarries in that direction.

So a road bridge over the tramway perhaps, or a short tunnel is highly possible in the Forest.

But was there ever a bridge? if so what for?

On visits in the area I cant imagine any reason for a bridge at any time...
