Thanks for that,that really fits, the pieces are beginning slowly to come together now, I have a name for this lady, she is definitly the right lady for the year of death in that area 1931 and Doris her daughter was 9 when she died. Do you know anything of her children. She had a daughter Eva who was alot older than Doris, what I am told is that Eva dissapeared after 1920 after going to london to work. No one in the family ever heard from her again (Eva Williams). Also there was Alice Mary Williams, Joseph called (Joe), Jim, Ernest. There were 13 children for Mary Ann Williams altogether and some of them died. I would like to find out who they all were and what age they died so on..

Hi, I have just found out from my mother that Doris Maud Williams born 1922s mother (Leadbeater) died at age 49 when doris was 9. My mother reckons this Leadbeater was born around 1883 or so and would of died 1931 or round about this..

HI, thanks for that, im sure you have the right people here only thing im wondering is that I thought they all came from Ruardean. I didn't think they were from Birmingham unless they moved down after they got married and settled in Ruadean. I wonder what brought them down them, work maybe?

Im positive you have the right one here, is the surname leadbetter spealt with one t or 2 tts in better so I can start researching. I wonder if she is one of those leadbeters from the littledean leadbetter family..

If this is the correct Doris, her birth cert may provide the extra information or at least confirm a direction to investigate :-)

If you know the birth of the eldest sibling it might help find a marriage etc

Thankyou very much for that, I have been searching for ages with no luck. You say her mothers maiden name is Leadbetter from Monmouth. I heard she died when my name was 9 must of been about 1931 or roundabout. Also I heard that she was about 40 when she died on Christmas. Is there anyway I could find out more about this woman her first name, birth, death or marriage information. I know she married George Christopher Williams my great grandfather, I would love to find out her first name, could you help or point me to the right direction, thanks

I am tracing my family tree. I am looking for information On my great grandfather 'George Christopher Williams who lived in Ruardean Hill. I am told he lived in Lilac Cottage but am unsure. I dont know the name of his wife my great grandmother because she died when my grandmother was 9 on christmas day. I know she had 13 children and two sets of twins who died at a young age. My grand mother called Doris Maud Williams was born in Ruardean Hill on 18th July 1922 and I know she had older sisters called Alice Wiliams and Eva Williams. She aslo had a brother called Ernest. My mother never new the name of her grandmother and its sad and she has asked me to do some research into this..I would be grateful if anyone out there could help me with this. If you have known of any williams family in that area since the early 1900s I would love to hear from you.
