Children not on 1911 census, Jane/Regina death (reply)

Well spotted sir !

Have heard Regina used several times in respect of Queen Victoria, but never thought abt it's meaning (Latin for Queen, reigning monarch), and I certainly never realised it was used as a name. I guess it might even be used as a female version of Reginald ?

Sometimes pronouced "Rejaina", so can easily believe it becoming Jane in a shortened/pet form, or if misheard by a census official or suchlike.
https://www.quora.com/Why-is-Queen-Elizabeth-II-named-Regina

If Familysearch is to be believed there a few examples of this name in our search area, such as;

Name  Clara Regina Dickenson
Is young Harry from Coleford too ?

FamilySearch also has several examples of different "Regina Dickenson" across the USA, and right across the 20th and 21st centuries.

Children not on 1911 census

Hi can anyone please help. In 1901 James Dickison/Dickinson born 1861 in coleford was listed along with his wife Jane and children Lilly 3 years, Sydney and Nellie both 11 months. In the 1911 census James is listed by himself boarder and widowed. No children listed with him. Any ideas where they would have been put as I cant find them anywhere. I know Nellie married my Uncle in 1920 in Coleford. Many thanks Valerie.
