George Treherne (1777-?) Lucy Williams (1788-1845) Dymock (reply)

Katie

I did get your email on my phone whilst in Belgium, as per my initial reply, I will get back to you within the week.

The George Treherne who married Lucy Williams is one of my 4 times Great Uncles. You are right in your assumption of George Treherne's parents as being one of my 4 times Great Grandparents George Treherne 1748/1814 & Susanna White 1750/1825. I can go back 4 more generations from Susanna, but no forther back with George Treherne 1748. Perhaps someone can help here ?

I have details for most of George Treherne 1774's 10 siblings, except your ancestor Susan 1826, so when I reply to your email with details of Susanna White's ancestors, you may be able to help me regarding Susan/Susanna Treherne.

Jeff's dates and information accords with my Family Tree by the way.

Jim Ashton

HI George Treherne (1777-?) Lucy Williams (1788-1845) Dymock (reply)

Hi Jeff:
Lucy died of consumption (tuberculosis) in 1845. She was not listed with George on the 1841 census so I don't know if she was institutionalized or living elsewhere to be cared for. George however, registered her death as per GRO cert.

George Treherne (1777-?) Lucy Williams (1788-1845) Dymock (reply)

Hi Jeff: Yes this is them. George died April 1854. I have the marriage and death certificates for both George and Lucy from the GRO. I cannot find any info on the parents of Lucy Williams which would be most helpful as I have completed Genetic DNA testing and following the maternal line is of great interest. Thank you for this information.

Hi,
Searching this site's PRs, looking for George's death.

I presume this is your Lucy's burial, as you know in 1845, so she is still in Dymock area, presumably with George.

Have you any idea at all when George died, eg from Census returns ?
From this site's PRs, does this Burial seem possible to you ?.
Age at death suggests born abt 1774 which is the best fit by far I can see within the PRs, and still in Dymock.

George Treherne (1777-?) Lucy Williams (1788-1845) Dymock (reply)

I see a recent message request on Ancestry - all information which exists already, helps give background and saves time for the forum to help.

the 1841 census for Bromsberrow (listed under a Farmer's name) -

John CLINTON - 30 servant
Joshua TREHERN - 15 (1861 census Herefordshire, Joshua is aged 37 c1824 and born Dymock)
John FARLEY - 10 - not born in County
Lucey TACHERN - 40 - NOT BORN IN COUNTY

(burial of a Lucy TREHERNE - 28 August 1845 age 57 c1788 at Bromsberrow Heath - understand death certificate states George in attendance)

'Comments on Ancestry forum…. George has a brother named Joshua who married a Mary JENKINS and several nephews named Joshua and a Niece named Lucy, so this could be them in Bromsberrow…"

One daughter of George & Lucy christened in 1815 has the middle name of HAYMAN : Melina HAYMAN TREHERN, ? which side of the family does this name come from

----
Checking previous threads..

'George TREHERNE 1748 was my 4x times Great Grandfather' etc. etc.

----

George TREHERNE married Lucy WILLIAMS at Dymock - 27 November 1810 - witnesses: Emanual TREHERNE and John SKIPP.
who was also a witnesses at Dymock, 6 April 1815 when Thomas DREW married Ann WILLIAMS. However, John SKIPP does appear to be a witness at a number of weddings in Dymock. George & Lucy's first daughter was named Ann

Thomas & Ann DREW appear to have at least two daughters christed at Ledbury, Jane - 20 Jan 1816 and Ann 1818.
So with a bit of delving things may come together. Thomas & Ann DREW is on Public Members Tree - …Ann and Thomas 1851 in Pendock, Worcestershire, Thomas 60 born Kempley and Ann - 60 born Dymock

--

By using the Advance Search and looking for TREHERNE as witnesses - family groups can be established e.g. (needs double-checking…..)

1796 at Dymock, Benjamin HARRIS/Elizabeth TURNER - witness includes, Joseph TREHERNE
1812 at Dymock: John PRICE/Eleanor TREHERNE - witness includes, Emanual TREHERNE

1791 at Ledbury: John WOODYATT/Mary TREHERN - witnesses includes Nancy TREHERNE
1800 at Ledbury: Thomas DANIELS/Mary WOODYAT - witness includes Wm TREHERNE
1806 at Ledbury: Thomas SADLER/Esther RUSSELL - witnesses includes, Joseph TREHERNE
1807 at Ledbury: John BRIMELL/Elizabeth SMITH - witnesses includes, William TREHERNE
1812 at Ledbury: Richard FLEETWOOD/Elizabeth FAUKE - witness includes, Hester TREHERNE

1819 at Preston by Ledbury - James PULLIN, residence, Dymock/Hannah PASSEY - witness includes: Keziah HANDKINS TREHERNE

George Treherne (1777-?) Lucy Williams (1788-1845) Dymock

Looking for information on George Treherne and Lucy Williams of Dymock. These are my 4th great grandparents via their daughter Susanna Treherne-Sandoz. In particular, I am looking for parents, grandparents of George and Lucy. I believe George is the son of George Treherne and Susanna White. I have marriage info for George and Lucy but no birth info for Lucy. She could possibly be the Lucy from Kingscote. Any help, information or direction would be greatly appreciate.
