The idea is a good one.

Mike has provided me with some good help in my research and I think he would be better concentrating on what he is good at Geneology research.

I would recommmend him to complete any research on families from the Monmouth area.

I don't know at this early stage wether the website will be free or subscription based. It all depends on grants and what parties want to be involved.

I am experimenting at the moment to see wether this project is worth pursuing. I have just photographed all the front pages of the Chepstow Weekly Advertiser for 1856, which carries all local news for Monmouthshire & parts of Gloucestershire which includes the Forest.

The images were taken from microfilm, which can be difficult to get good copies. Eventually I want to photograph the originals with a much powerful digital camera.

The Chepstow Weekly Advertiser images are 62 - 172.
