Dear Slowhands,

I am looking for a Rachel Bowen who was born in Lydney in 1861? She moved to Glamorgan and married a John Lloyd 1863 in Llanelli, but I have no marriage date.

Any information on the Bowen Family would be great.

My gut feeling was Emily from Alvington but the bit about her living on a farm clinches it.

Of the choices you have the ALvington Emily feels a better "fit"
Firstly age in later censuses 1856
Secondly her father is a Farm Baliff, and she lives married life on a farm
Thirdly its not as though Alvington and Aylburton parishes are more than a few yards apart , blink on the A48 and you have gone from one to the next :-)

Emily Bowens marriage to James Wintour

Hi James Wintour 1853 Lydney married an Emily Bowen, but I have found 2 Emily Bowens who may fit the bill. I suspect it is Emily Bowen 1856 from Alvington but the censuses tell me slightly different. Can anyone help?.
