I am looking to find the parents of Richard Worgan b.abt.1855 who married Diane Elizabeth Wildin in 1895.In the 1901 census they are living in Bream and his birthplace is just registered as West Dean.

I have only found this site. William is the son of my GGGrandpareants. Their son John Worgan came out to NZ in 1880 with his wife and four children.
Someone was going to send me information about William. Just recently I received the 1861 cenus records which have Richard and Rhoda's children.

I really appreciate you taking the time to produce so much information for me to view. I must have recorded the George and John year of birth incorretly from the beginnging. Good to be correct. I do have some names and dates from the Glos. Record Office from two different visits. I hope to fill in some dates and post for viewing.

I read over the list of WORGANs and have a small bit to add.

I have a Worgan branch that lived in the St. Briavel's Common.

My ggg-grandmother was Mary WORGAN who married a Henry LEWIS and had one child (that I know of)
named Sarah Ann. On the 1851 Census George Worgan lived with Mary and Henry. Later the 1881
census listed John WORGAN lived with Henry, Sarah, baby William Taylor Lewis - Mary was
deseased. According to the ages listed on the census records John and George Worgan were twins, and Mary the older sister.

This is all I recall of the top of my head. If anyone is interested in birth/marriage/death years I can
certainly look them up. I am interested in learning where the connection is with the rest of the Worgans in the Forest.

Hi, I have a Richard Worgan married to Myra Baglin. One of their daughters was Emma Worgan, who was my Great Grandmother, and she married Thomas Theodore Shingles. Emma had a son before this marriage - Victor Worgan, who lived in Bream, played in the Silver band and had sons who lived their too - Peter and Eric.

I don't have your Martha already, I'm afraid, but how much info have you regarding Martha's parents, have you found her in any census returns, have you got her birth certificate and are you sure of her age?

If not there is a possible birth registration in 1847 and there is a M. Worgan, age 3, daughter, on the 1851 census.

I haven't been very up to date with my emails this year and I promised that I would send someone a scan of a death certificate of William Worgan, the son of Richard and R(h)oda (nee Worgan) Worgan. I'm really sorry but I can't remember to whom I should send said certificate but I'm pretty sure that it was someone on this list. Does it ring any bells?

Also,
if anyone has any WORGAN people would they like to send them on to me as, depending on the interest, I am sure that we could tie up a lot of them, particularly in the FOD area.
