Fantastic. Hi Jenny it feels great to have finally made contact with you, I'm sure we could have lots of family info to share and I look forward to learning more from your great granddad's side. It is quite amazing how a family tree expands over the generations and I am fascinated with each and every new branch that I come across. I shall look for your email address and make contact with you ( I really don't know where to start but I'm sure we can find that starting point somewhere.) I shall email you soon with an introduction of who I am and a brief explanation of my family (and heading back a few generations until we can match up our heritage).

i think you are correct john was my great grandfather did have have both an Annie and a Harriet as sibling s, Making us distant cousins , my dad john marshall is alive and well and like me lives in Kent , he is in touch with some of the older Simonds family . AND I AM HAPPY TO PROVIDE OR HELP IN ANY SHAPE WITH THE FAMILY TREE. YOUR COUSIN JENNY

Hi Jenny, my name is Huw Davies and I am from Resolven near Neath in South Wales. I have been looking to find some information on my grandmothers family as no-one in the family seems to have much info at all, it would be nice to find some distant cousins out there. My grandmother was Annie Simmonds from Lydbrook and I believe that she had a sister called Harriet and I think there is a possibility that your grandfather/great grandfather John may have been her brother. I believe that the family moved to Aberdare where Annie met my grandfather and started their own family. I would love to be able to share any info with you or any member of your family if it is at all possible. I am contactable by email.

I am looking for a Jenny Savidge who was looking for records of her great grandparents from Lydbrook in Gloucestershire, I think that her grandfather John Simmonds may be my grandmother's (annie simmonds) brother. Can anyone help me trace this lady?

Thanks Huw, sorry for doubting your views ref Alfred's death, you seemed unsure and I can only go on the Records I see. Thanks for the NHS numbers etc, but I've never used these before for FH purposes, perhaps best to delete them off your post for your own privacy ?.

Searching again for his Death Record I'm unable to find a clear definitive record on FreeBMD even when just seaarching mid 1946 !?

Thanks for mentioning his second marriage, that was much easier to find, again on FreeBMD;

ie Alfred marries Mary A Clarke in Neath District in April/May/June 1937, as you know.

I cannot find an obvious Birth Record for Mary, altho of course she may also have been a widow, so may not have been born a Clarke.
